Biography Project

I propose that I will do my Biography Project on Willem van der Wende. He is a senior Digital Media Production major, a Graphic Design minor, and a French minor, but his backstory is very interesting. His life has been a whirlwind, ranging from his adoption, to moving around the Northwest, to coming all the way across the country to Slippery Rock University.

Willem was adopted from Russia when he was just 16 months old by his parents, Ewout and Barbara van der Wende, and he has one sister, Anna, who is also adopted. He has lived in Alaska, Montana, and now Pennsylvania, and he has spent a great deal of time in Europe with his family and his other relatives.

Willem's journey to PA began with his love for soccer, as he was scouted to come play varsity soccer for the university. Since coming here, Willem has very nearly completed his three degree programs, and has been the University Program Board Director of Media Relations for the past two years.

All of these things have made up Willem's life, and I'd be glad to share the story with all of you.
